Class sizes are already too big in primary school so don’t need to merge.

The school is too important to be closed.

It would be such a loss to loose this lovely school from the Community.

It would be sad and short sighted to close a school that sits in the heart of the community and does a great job of developing young people and helping them thrive.

My mother is a teacher at cowes primary school. Not only this but I think the decision is completely unfair and barely thought out as it should be based on the schools teaching and not money!! Why close a foster graded “good” school and keep open an academy just for the money and not the teaching !!!

My children have attended Cowes Primary for the last 15 years and not only is it a staple of the Cowes community for education but a wonderful safe place for kids to socially grow. The lies and unfairness shown to this school does not represent a decent behaviour by a council who apparently has it's constituents best interests at heart.

Access to Gurnard is impractical for our family as it is too far to walk in the morning and there is no car parking nearby the school. Moving our child there would have a detrimental effect to the everyday life of our family.

I am signing this petition as I strongly disagree with the way the consultation has been run. I manage a preschool on the site of Cowes Primary School, and they have always supported us with our day to day running of the preschool. We rent the property from them, but apart from that, they have been supportive at all times. We share advice, resources, events, and ideas.

There is a shortage of excellent schools on the island, regardless of pupil numbers, why not close the more under achieving school and transfer those pupils to cowes primary.

It is important for children to go to a local school and for them and their parents not have to travel miles out of their way every day, especially at this young age.

I don’t think the local authority is being transparent and do not feel that closure of CPS is justifiable.
