I believe the mayor's raise should be rescinded and properly addressed.

The entire thing seems rather nefarious and not particularly good politics

Lack of transparency.

I am signing this petition because I believe that public servants must uphold the highest standards of transparency, particularly regarding their salaries. The recent actions of the mayor, which lacked proper transparency and failed to provide adequate opportunities for due diligence, undermine public trust and accountability. It is crucial for public officials to act openly and honestly to maintain the integrity of their office and ensure that the public is fully informed.

Civil servants shouldn't be a paid position. Maybe a stipend. At most they should make minimum wage.

Fraudulent activity and not in the best interest of the community.

What they did was wrong not to make it public.

We need transparency in our government business. Everything needs to be voted on in accordance with law and statutes and with public knowledge if required by regulation.

This town need more action before he can over double a salary

He is a pompous little man who thinks too highly of himself and this was devious attempt to increase his importance. We have already seen a spike in our City Utility Bill for September. Get the sewer system fixed and make use of yourself Mr Wright.

The mayor doesn't do enough, doesn't deserve a pay raise like that when I cant even afford to live as it is.

The Mayor gives me the ick and the way this raise happens and the amount of the raise are totally wrong.

135,000 for a part time position is insane. We need funds to tackle the smell the city has taken on. Plus to try and swindle voting rights from your community is appalling. Do better

Because the optics of this whole deal are terrible, it stinks of corruption plain and simple.

There is no need for a full time Mayor with a salary more than two times the previous salary. This is absolutely not something the citizens of Oak Harbor would have desired had we a say.

His pay increase was insane and done in a very shady way. I don’t support our Mayor one bit now because of it.

I'm a concerned citizen of Oak Harbor. We should vote if he's worth enough for a raise. It's not a gift for part time work.

This was incredibly unethical, well executed, and deceitful to the taxpayers/voters of The City of Oak Harbor. He needs to be removed from office as well as his morals and ethics are completely void. Also, the council and the salary committee should all be investigated for conflicts of interest as Mr Wright handles most of the members finances which is rumored to have clouded the judgment of at least one city council member. The council member is rumored to have said “ what can I do? The guy handles my money”. This needs to be taken very seriously.
